The Cards of Natural Systems touch upon our many different ways of learning; incorporate all of our senses and include all art forms. Each card will challenge you in its own way; each assignment can be adjusted to your personal preference and abilities.
It’s up to you if you want to use The Cards of Natural Systems:

as your daily companion at home

on a weekly basis in your classroom

as inspiration for after-school activities and workshops
-
as a family game on the weekends
Each card is assigned into a category that will offer awareness, creation, a resource or reflection, and lists what you need to be able to do the assignment.
The card deck is developed so that it can serve both children and adults.
This card deck has been developed with support from The Cultural Participation Fund of The Netherlands and is made in a sustainable and responsible manner.

THE ART OF NATURAL SYSTEMS
The Art of Natural Systems is an initiative of artist-practitioners Ruthana Slob & Lotte Willemsma:
as an answer to many deep conversations around how we can support others in life. In both our (art and therapy) practices, we continuously see that people’s emotional and physical equilibria gets disrupted. Based on our personal and professional experience we believe that art, creativity and nature can help us in finding back a healthy balance; a plethora of research supports this viewpoint.
After traveling to different parts of the world; having dialogues with other artists, practitioners and therapists from many different cultures, and exploring the connection between art, creativity, nature and health through research, we decided to dive deeper into our natural systems.
We started the process of developing a method that incorporates the many ways in which we can learn - about ourselves and about others. In this method we bring forward the interconnectedness with all other life on earth; bridge cultures around the world; speak to all of our senses; include different art forms; offer awareness, creativity, resources and reflection and promote sustainability in all its forms.
The outcome of this process is The Cards of Natural Systems.
THE CARDS OF NATURAL SYSTEMS
ART. CREATIVITY. NATURE
The Cards of Natural Systems is an interactive card deck that will take you on a very special journey. A journey that explores places in your mind, in your body and in the outer world that you may have never been to before.
Through small assignments, that we collected from all over the world, we hope to tickle your imagination, your creativity and your solution oriented thinking.
The cards incorporate all the natural systems that we, as humans, can make use of, such as:

our own physical being

the nature around us

the creation of arts and crafts

the development of our own life skills​
IN DEVELOPMENT
We are in the process of developing:

Audio recordings and braille versions, so that the cards are inclusive and can be listened to

An app, so that the cards can go with you wherever you are on your phone

A variety of lesson plans for teachers, to work with the cards in a broader school context
-
Workshop formats for families, artists, therapists, teachers & school classes
-
Activities/retreats for those who'd like to grow their creativity & nature connectedness
